Dr. Medina is a licensed psychologist and gender therapist specializing in working with the adult population. She is one of the few bilingual therapists in the area able to provide services in Spanish and English. Dr. Medina is certified in EMDR and incorporates mindfulness and meditation in her therapeutic approach.
Dr. Medina also specializes in mental health assessments (referral letters) for hormone therapy and gender affirmation surgery for transgender clients and in conducting psychological evaluations for immigration. Dr. Medina has worked with a wide variety of clients in individual, couples, and group therapy. She has experience working with LGBTQ community, transgender/transsexual/gender non-conforming individuals, combat veterans, military sexual trauma survivors, people suffering from chronic pain, and individuals struggling with substance addiction.
Dr. Medina is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). She is also a member of the East Valley Psychological Society and has served in the Arizona Psychological Association Ethics and Membership committees. She is a National Career Development Association Graduate Research Grant Recipient for her dissertation research in Career Assessment.
